5 Simple Ways To Relax After Long Day!

We all have those long stressful days that seem to drag on forever and on those days, it’s crucial to take some time to relax your mental and physical self. These 5 ways might sound obvious and quite simple; however, you would be surprised to find how less of us actually take the time to do them and how big of a difference they can actually make!

  • Get Comfortable

The first thing i like to do as soon as i get home is to change into my comfy clothes and take off all my makeup, and personally i can’t mentally relax until i’ve done this and once i have, i instantly feel relaxed.


  • Hot Bath/Shower 

This is one of favorite ways to relax. The warm water actually helps your muscles relax and provides the same benefits as getting a massage, i know pretty cool. So next time you feel too lazy to take a bath, just think of it as a mini massage. Light some candles, listen to music or even meditate in the bath if you want to take it up a notch!


  • Do Something You Love

If you have some extra time, use it to do something you enjoy doing. For me, that would be blogging or watching my favorite youtubers as that just makes me super happy and relaxed.


  • Journaling

This probably seems like the last think you would want to do after a long and stressful day but writing your thoughts down is actually proven to reduce stress, anxiety and help you sleep. So the next time you feel like there are too many thoughts in your head and you can’t seem to shut your mind off, try journaling and see how much more relaxed you feel.


  • Read a book

Instead of scrolling through social media before you go to bed and ending your day with even more negative thoughts, pick out a book that you like and read it. I personally love reading and find that this helps me to stop deliberating over all the unnecessary stuff and since it does not require me to stare at a screen for ages, it is the perfect way to get ready for bed.

  1. I completely agree with all of these! I love a long, hot bubble bath with a good book or magazine. I am also a sucker for a face mask and listening to some of my fave music at the time! ❤ xxx

    1. No I don’t at the moment!
      Would you mind telling my how or why you struggle with it? Do you struggle with being able to write down your thoughts and true feelings? Or is it something else?

      1. I would you don’t necessarily have to commit to it. Don’t make it something you HAVE to do cause that will make it seem like a chore. Whenever you feel down, and you are overthinking just write those thoughts down, even if it’s like 5 sentences! Hope that helps! 💕

  2. I looove coming home and getting into comfy clothes after work, that is one of the best things haha. I’m going to try journaling, I couldn’t sleep last night as I had so much on my mind.. Would have been great to try this out then!

  3. I completely agree with all of these! And would you believe there are people who don’t change into their comfies as soon as they get home?! I think it’s soooo important to come home and just relax after a long day at work. Love this post 🙂
