Fenty Beauty Shimmer Skinstick Review!

I’m here with a super exciting review today and I’m sure most, if not all of you have heard about the amazing Fenty Beauty makeup line by Rihanna. I really didn’t think i would be purchasing anything from this line as it is on the pricey side so i was super excited when my sister gifted me this gorgeous Match Stix Shimmer Skinstick in the shade ‘blonde’. If you guys want to know my thoughts on it, then keep on reading!

 

What are Shimmer Skinsticks?

These shimmer skinsticks are supposed to let you highlight, blush and enhance your skin. They are said to have a ‘long wear cream-to-powder formula which is weightless, bendable, and LIVES to be layered’.

Packaging

The packaging of her entire makeup line is definitely something that caught my eye from the very start. I love how simple yet sleek and elegant all the products look. These highlighter sticks come in a gorgeous dusty pink tube with silver writing on it and i think that color combination is amazing!

Shade

These Shimmer Stix come in ’10 universal colors’ and the one that i have is ‘blonde’ which is a beautiful shade of gold. This is a gorgeous shade for medium/tan to very deep skin tones.

Consistency & Formula

These Shimmer Stix are meant to have a cream-to-powder formula which i totally love because although it feels like cream, it has the lasting power of a powder highlighter. If you want a good amount of pigmentation, then you definitely need to layer this as i felt that the color didn’t truly show up until i did the third layer.

I wasn’t quite sure how to apply this as I’m not a big fan of highlighter sticks in the first place because i find them quite hard to blend in to the skin.  I tried applying some on a brush and then on my face but that barely gave me any pigmentation so i applied the stick directly to my skin. You definitely have to work fast when it comes to blending; however i loved the final result It didn’t look overly glittery and gave my skin this gorgeous golden sheen. It looked very flawless and seamless on my skin which is what i look for in a highlighter. What i love about this is that you can build it up or keep it subtle according to your wishes.

Side note: These pictures DID NOT do justice to the highlighter. It looked 100 x better in real life than it does in these pictures but hopefully you can a hint of how beautiful this highlighter is!

I went in and applied it on the high points of my cheeks and on my eye lids as well.

Overall, i am in love with this product which i wasn’t expecting. I am very picky with highlighters as i don’t like them to look overly glittery and this product totally stood up to my high expectations. I already know i will be wearing this quite a lot!
