5 Skincare Products You Need To Try!

Whether you are someone who loves to wear a lot of makeup or someone who likes to keep it natural, I believe we can all agree that proper skincare is key. Today, I wanted to share with you all my top 5 skincare products that I have been loving recently and that I highly recommend. Having said that, I do have dry skin so some of these products might not work as well for you as they did for me depending on your skin type. Anyways, let’s get on with the post!

  • ORGANIC COCONUT OIL

There are tons of different uses for coconut oil but the main way I like to use it is as a moisturizer for my skin at night. The reason why I use this at night specifically is because it can feel a little heavy for use during the day. What I love about it is that it easily absorbs in to my skin without feeling greasy. I wake with the softest, most hydrated skin and for someone who has dry skin, there really is no better feeling! Plus, you can be rest assured that you aren’t putting any harsh chemicals on your face as it is natural and organic. You can also use it to remove makeup or incorporate it in to face mask recipes. This has quickly become my holy grail skincare product.

  • ST.IVES SCRUBS

I like to exfoliate my skin 3-4 times a week and that might seem excessive but that is just what helps keep my skin stay smooth and texture free all the time. If you guys are looking for some good scrubs, I highly recommend checking out St.ives as they have a great range of some amazing scrubs. Not only are they super affordable buy they do an amazing job at exfoliating the skin and getting rid of all the dirt and dead skin cells without being overly harsh. My personal favourite would have to be the ‘Blackhead Clearing Green Tea Scrub’.

  • BAKING SODA

This might seem like a random one, but if you suffer from textured skin or whiteheads, then this is a great remedy for you. Just mix some baking soda and water together to make a paste and apply it to the specific area- for me that is the t-zone area- and wait 5 minutes. Using a toothbrush gently scrub the paste and then wash it off. My skin is left feeling so smooth/soft and it helps so much with the texture. I absolutely love this DIY remedy.

  • ROSE WATER

I have mentioned this product so many times on my blog already and I really hope you guys are not sick of me talking about it haha! I love using rose water as a toner for my skin. Not only does it feel super refreshing and smell so good, it has anti inflammatory properties that helps with redness/irritated skin/acne/eczema and helps remove oil and dirt form clogged pores. Also, it is super cheap and completely natural!

  • ORIGINS RETEXTURIZING MASK WITH ROSE CLAY

I did a whole review on this mask including two others in the origins range that you can check out here. I love this mask as it really helps get rid of the texture on my skin making it super smooth and minimizes my pores without drying out my skin. My makeup goes on flawlessly  after I have use this mask and this is my absolute favourite face mask at the moment!

  2. I SWEAR by coconut oil. Not only does it make my skin super soft but I love to use it for my hair too. Also I’ve used the St Ives Apricot Scrub for ages and I love it! I really need to try Rose Water – I’ve had my eye on it for a while but think I’ll give it a go now, seeing as it looks like we use pretty similar products!

    1. Oh, I used the normal coconut oil and it broke me out which was so weird because I have dry skin and that never happens to me! I then got this organic coconut oil and it works wonders. xx

  3. I just started using a rose water spray! I always avoided it because I have oily skin and rose water is usually geared towards people with dry skin, but I love spritzing it on before applying my makeup and letting it soak in a bit.

Another skincare product I just added to my routine is blue tansy; I have acne prone skin and blue tansy has really helped with that.

    Lovely post! x

    1. Oh that’s amazing! I’ve actually heard that rose water can be used as a makeup setting spray to refresh your makeup but personally I have never used it that way! Might give that a try! xx

  4. Hey Huda! Those St. Ives scrubs work so good, the apricot one always leaves my face so smooth! I only like to use it every once in a while though, because it will dry my skin out so I like to moisturize with Cetaphil pretty good after I use it!

    1. Oh, I’m surprised they dry out your skin! But yeah, i think it works different on different skin types as I can use it 3 times in a week and it still doesn’t dry out my skin! Thanks for reading! xx

    1. This sounds so amazing! I didn’t know there were coconut oil supplements, I’ll have to check that out! At home spa really is the best, I want to try adding crushed mint and rosemary aswell! 🙌🏼🙌🏼

  5. After reading this, I def wanna try the origins mask. One of my go-to skin care products is Derma E Daily Detox Scrub – makes my skin super soft. I love coconut oil – I use it as a moisturizer as well. Thanks for the suggestions

  6. I have to say I tried and failed with the coconut oil:) it didn’t agree with my skin:) I do use it on dry lips in the winter (and in the kitchen of course)

    1. Oh, I’ve actually heard a few people say it didn’t work for them!
That sounds like a great idea actually, my lips get super chapped in the winter as well!

  7. I don’t know I don’t use coconut oil that often on my super oily skin. But once in a while I do use it. Rosewater is my all time fav for making my face masks. But I have never tried using it as a toner. St. Ives is an old favorite. Baking soda is a little scary. I have heard and read so much about using baking soda but I am scared. But since you have mentioned it I will try it soon. Origins Retexturizing mask is one of my favorite clay masks. I love it. 🙂 Lovely post thanks for sharing. 🙂

    1. You’re welcome! Oh I’ve heard many people say coconut oil doesn’t work very well for their oily skin which I totally get! Baking soda is actually not that scary haha, it’s actually really good for the skim and yay that’s awesome, it’s one of my fav masks aswell! xx

  8. I’ve got very sensitive skin and using baking soda was awful for me. I suspect it was too basic and messed with my pH balance. My skin was red, dry and painful after just one use.

I’ve heard good things about rose water too. I’ll definitely put it on my list of things to try. Thanks for the information!

    1. No way! I’ll definitely keep in mind to let people who have sensitive skin know that it can have a negative effect!
Rose water is totally a must have!
