Social media is crucial for blog traffic; however knowing exactly which social media generates the most blog traffic can be confusing. I got quite a few comments on my ‘5 Ways To Increase Your Blog Traffic‘ blog post asking me how exactly twitter helps with blog traffic and today I will be sharing with you all 4 ways that helped me DOUBLE my blog traffic through twitter!
Twitter Comment Threads
The #1 way to increase your blog traffic through twitter is by taking part in ‘comment threads’. There are several pages (i will leave the names down below) on twitter that have weekly comment threads. They basically allow bloggers to leave a link to their latest blogpost in the comments section. Not only does this allow you to get your content across to a large number of people but it is also a great opportunity to discover and connect with some other amazing bloggers. Since doing this, my blog traffic has increased significantly and I highly recommend this for any one to looking to increase their engagement and blog traffic.
Sharing Your Blogposts Through ‘Hootsuite’
A great way to keep getting consistent traffic on your current and old blogposts is by using a scheduling app like ‘Hootsuite’. We all get busy and it can become difficult to share your blogposts on twitter everyday but with this app, you can schedule them in advance. You simply need to paste the link of the blogpost you want to share, choose the time and day you want it to go up on and voila, this app will automatically send out the tweet for you. I like to sit down at the beginning of the week and use this app to schedule one tweet for everyday of the week sharing any one of my blogposts that i feel deserves a little more love (I really hope that made sense haha). Try not to go overboard with tweeting out your blogposts though as it might start to get a little spam-y and could lead to people unfollowing you. I like to stick to 1-2 tweet per day as I already mentioned and I feel it works great that way!
TAGGING
If you are going to be sharing your blogposts, a great way to ensure it reaches a large number of people is by tagging those same blogger retweet accounts that I will be listing down below. You can tag those pages in your tweet and in return they will retweet your tweet meaning the chances of more people viewing your blogpost, liking it and sharing it are higher.
BLOGGER FOLLOW TRAINS
Another great way of putting not only your blog but also your social medias out there is by taking advantage of something called ‘blogger follow trains’. Many accounts on twitter run these blogger follow trains (including me hehe) and this basically allows you to leave all your blog links in the comments section where other bloggers can check it out and you can find other bloggers by going through the comments as well. I have found so many amazing bloggers through this way and my following has increased significantly by taking part in this.
And those are 4 tried and tested ways that will help you increase your blog traffic, engagement and following in just a short period of time!
What is your favourite social media to promote your blog on? Why?
Let me know in the comments below!

Twitter is my favourite place to promote posts (I only really use it tbh, my Instagram is more of a personal account), and I definetly find comment threads increase my views quite a bit!

Thanks for some amazing tips Huda. I keep trying the points you have mentioned the follow train and comment threads but I guess I am always late on these activities on Twitter. Especially weekends are a little busy. I need to tag the retweet accounts, I have never done that. 🙂

Very handy post, I totally agree, scheduling some tweets can really impact your stats! I tend to use tweetdeck though! Comment threads and RT accounts are always handy too, I actually run one, #beechat (@Cbeechat) if you ever wanna use it! 🙂 great post!
