5 Simple Yet Effective Skin Care Tips!

I think we are all aware of the importance of looking after our skin and although there are millions of tips/tricks out there that claim to help you achieve that youthful skin, today I wanted to share with you guys just 5 simple tips that are super effective and are proven to help you achieve healthier/younger looking skin, not just now but also in the long term.

  • Wear Sunscreen

Sun spots, wrinkles, premature ageing of skin and in extreme cases skin cancer, are just some of the effects of not protecting your skin against the harmful rays of the sun. Make sure to apply a generous amount of sunscreen that has SPF of at least 15 or above before stepping outside of the house. One of J. Lo’s main tip on her younger looking skin is that she never goes out in to the sun and in the rare times that she does, she makes sure to wear lots of sunscreen!

  • Remove Makeup:

I know you’ve heard this a million times already but that just goes to show how crucial this step is for our skin. Yes, we all get lazy sometimes, so just keep some makeup removing wipes on your bedside table and take off your makeup right before going to sleep and save your self from some major breakouts the next day. Our skin needs to repair itself at night and create healthy cells and this will definitely be harder for it to do if their is all that dirt and grime on your face.

  • Exfoliate

Exfoliation is super important for fresh looking and healthy skin. As we age, our body becomes slower in shedding skin cells and generating new ones and not exfoliating can pile up old skin cells on the surface of the skin, leaving the skin looking rough and dull. I like to exfoliate at least 3 times a week and I love how it get rids of all the oils/impurities, clogged pores and dead skin leaving me with soft and healthy skin.

  • Wash/Moisturize Skin At Night Before Going To Bed

Although we all know that we need to wash and moisturize our skin daily, sometimes we tend to forget the importance of doing it at night just before going to sleep. We need to let our skin repair itself at night from the damage caused by the skin’s exposure to pollution, sun and loss of hydration. Have a little night time skin care routine and your skin will thank you the next morning with soft and glowing looking skin.

  • Drink Lots Of Water

Last but certainly not the least is hydrating your skin by drinking at least 8 glasses of water per day. Now this is something a lot of people including myself struggle with. Water helps plump the skin, reducing the signs of wrinkles, gets rid of all the toxins keeping the skin fresh and clean, helps against breakouts/acne and so much more. Make sure to always carry a bottle of water with you so that you don’t forget to drink enough water or download one of those apps on your phone that gives you a reminder to drink water and your skin will look super healthy not only now b!

  1. MOISTURE! MOISTURE! MOISTURE! I am 40+…start moisturizing as early as you can, you will thank yourself later. Fortunately, I received this wise advise at the age of 22. I love my skin!

That’s is such a great idea, those apps are quite helpful! And I have dry skin too and I think for us it’s even more important to drink lots of water haha!

  2. Great tips! Removal of makeup is so important. And drinking lots of water. I have been blessed with very good skin, and my routine is washing my face with Dove soap, moisturizing twice a day and tons of water. Sunscreen I never use and I wish I had when I was younger. Great blog.

    1. Oh, I’m guessing you have oily skin so the sun cream is probably too oily for your skin type. You can check out the brand Eucerin, they have a gel consistency sun cream and hopefully that won’t break you out!
Yeah, it’s super important, thanks for reading! 💕💕
