Is This The Most Hydrating Moisturizer?!?

Hey beauties,

I’m sure many of you have heard about the Neutrogena Hydro Boost range and after seeing the ad for the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel Moisturizer (35AED), i was quite intrigued. If you are someone like me who has dry skin, words such as ‘hydration’ and ‘refreshing’ are enough to make me buy a skin care product and so obviously i was very excited to try out!

Claims:

Forget moisturisation, start thinking hydration. NEW from Neutrogena®, Hydro Boost® is your complete hydration regime. For skin so hydrated and supple, it bounces back. A refreshing water-gel moisturiser that contains a unique Hyaluronic Gel Matrix to instantly lock in intense hydration and continuously release it as and when your skin needs it throughout the day.

Now if you are someone like me who has dry skin, words such as ‘hydration’ and ‘refreshing’ are enough to make me buy a skin care product and so obviously i was very excited to try out!

Packaging:

I have to say i absolutely love the packaging. It comes in this jar packaging that doesn’t feel cheap whatsoever and you can tell that they put a lot into it considering it’s a drugstore product. The color combination of white and blue again is so pretty and i’m definitely someone who judges products by their packaging so that’s a plus for me.

Scent:

This moisturizer definitely has a scent which is no problem for me as i actually kind of like it. I feel like it’s refreshing and it goes away once you actually apply it on the skin so it’s not a big deal.

Application:

This moisturizer has a gel texture as you can tell from the name ‘water-gel’ and it’s super lightweight. It absorbs into the skin seamlessly and does not leave any greasy/oily residue at all. I feel like this moisturizer actually gives me a slight cooling effect on my skin once applied which i love.

My thoughts:

Although i had high expectations from this moisturizer, i have to say it’s is not my favourite and that is purely due to me having dry skin. Even though it hydrates my skin, i can still see dry patches on my skin after i have applied it. I think this would be an amazing moisturizer for combination skin types but it definitely does not work for dry skin.

Have you guys tried the Neutrogena Hydro Boost range? What are your thoughts on it?

Thank you for reading! xx

  1. I always stay aware from gel moisturizers because they are never as hydrating as creams! I know Boscia recently came out with a gel-cream hybrid that looks really interesting so I may give that one a try.

    1. Yeah I definitely agree with you!
I have only tried one gel moisturizer in the past and that was from olay and that one didn’t suit my skin either!
Gel-cream hybrid sounds like a good deal though, do let me know what you think of it! 💗

      1. I have! It didn’t work for me at all!
I always recommend Cetaphil moisturiser for dry skin! It’s absolutely amazing!

  2. I would definitely think that this is more for oily skin as it is a light moisturizer. I’ve heard that people with oily skin really like this moisturizer. If you have dry skin, head over to my blog, I just wrote a post on how to deal with dry skin!

    1. Oh yes, I would agree with you!
Although it’s hydrating, it is quite light which is obviously not suitable for dry skin and I know some people who really love this moisturizer.
      I’ll check it out! ☺️💗
